In what way will this year be a big one?

The new year starts with an atmospheric river—many days of heavy rain and wind, interspersed with rain showers.

The Palters smartly headed to the Cayman Islands for a weeks vacation.

Winter settled in and it was said that no matter where you lived in California you could see snow (maybe in the distance).

But sunshine and rainbows were on their way.

Luanne and Ira have not traveled much so far this year.  But they did visit the International Space Station (ISS) with some friends via virtual reality (VR).  That’s Luanne waving in the middle with Ira on the left in the photo.

All the Lansings travelled to Manhattan Beach (So. Cal.) for Aunt Judy’s (Grandma Betty’s sister) 91st birthday.  She is a great-great aunt to Kaia.

This photo shows 4 generations of family.

Passover 2023 was in Santa Cruz, joined by Jessica’s mother and her partner, Mario.

In the spring we went to Chicago for a brief visit with the Palter family.  One of the highlights was “Build-a-Bear” at Navy Pier.  Above are the results of  Violet’s and Elijah’s constructions.

In the Spring of this year we visited or friends from Chicago, Terry and Ted.  They live half the year in Palm Springs.  Click on the photo to see a brief slide show of sights.

A quick trip to Minnesota for a wedding reception for great-niece Talya (Judith’s granddaughter) and new husband Alex.  They will return to Israel, where they were married last year.

All of Ira’s siblings were there, along with cousin Jeff Cohen (from Washington, D.C.)
