2020 For Now

Living in the new normal, the time of the Corona Virus ID-19 (COVID 19) pandemic will restrict and reduce our ability to travel for a good part of this year. For at least some of March, all of April and May sheltering at home has been required. All restaurants are closed except for curbside take-out as an option. We are using loading dock pickups for online grocery orders at a couple of markets.Social distancing—maintain 6 feet from anyone with whom you are not sheltering—is required.Face masks are necessary for anything outside of the home except hikes, running or biking outdoors.

We got over the 2020 obstacles, so let’s move on to 2021…

The Lansings3 headed to Costa Rica for some surfing and beach time.

Luanne and Ira headed to Chicago for the first time in over a year.  Click on the photo to see more.

The Palter branch headed to the lakefront beaches in Michigan, visiting our hometown (see the water tower!)(not!).

All the kids and grandkids met in Chicago in July.  Click on the photo to see more.

Just a reminder of whom we all are—an abbreviated family tree drawn by Kaia (age 7-1/2).

Note the detail of Ira’s ponytail, little Violet on Joe’s waist and earrings on Kaia.

Elijah’s (age 4-1/2 version) of the immediate family.  Note the letters that label each person in the family: Dad, Mom, Elijah and Violet.

With the end of 2021 and with vaccinations and COVID-19 booster shots, the three long-time friends (since the 9th grade), Michael Barclay and Michael Harrison (l.-r.) with Ira, were once again able to meet somewhere in the middle of California for their annual post-Christmas Day adventure.
